I am a volunteer with Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America here with Juanita a survivor of gun violence in Springfield.

I am a printmaker making monotypes and monoprints.

Monotypes are one-of-a-kind prints made by drawing or painting on a smooth, non-absorbent surface and transferring to paper with a press or by hand. Monoprints have a permanent matrix, either relief or drypoint. I create variable editions, work sharing a common object or theme.

STATEMENT

I draw inspiration from forms, shapes, objects, landscapes, or experiences.

Through a process of accidental and intentional marks over many layers and passes through the press, I transform and alter  the original. I love color and line and suggestive marks.

I look for both balance and dynamism. Many layers of ink application comprise each piece.

This is the beauty of the process. Each monotype has its own history.
